Shania Twain appeals for missing fan

Country star Shania Twain has appealed to the public for any information surrounding the disappearance of a young fan in New York.

Rachael Mattice, 24, was last seen on 22 June (16) leaving her home in Johnstown and heading to the family's retreat in Wells, a small town over 50 miles away, but she hasn't been seen or head from since.

Her family and friends have spent the past week searching for Rachael to no avail, so they decided to reach out to her music idol Shania in hopes her celebrity influence could help find their missing loved one.

Rachael's friend Cynthina Nellis took to Instagram and posted a passionate plea to the From This Moment On singer, writing, "You are Rachael's favorite country artist. She absolutely adores you. Her parents use to call her Shania when she was little because she would sing your music all the time. She had every tape, cd, knows every lyric to every song.

"I’m reaching out to you in hopes that you can make one of Rachael’s dreams come true by sending a message out to her."

On Thursday (30Jun16), Shania responded to her plea and took to Twitter, writing, "I've heard the story of Rachael Mattice & urge anyone with information to come forward to the police & help her return to her family. Thinking of you Rachael."

Police are still on the hunt for Rachael.

Meanwhile, Shania is said to be working on a new album after wrapping up her final concert series, Rock This Country Tour, last year (15).
