NewsOctober, 18 Frank Ocean misses Grammy deadlineFrank Ocean cannot win a Grammy in February after missing the deadline to submit his album. The 28-year-old star released two records in August, visual album 'Endless' and his second studio record 'Blonde', but he will not be named among the nominees for the prestigious ceremony, which are announced on December 8, 2016. A source confirmed to Billboard that neither of his records were submitted for consideration by his management, record labels or other representations. This is despite the albums dropping before the 2017 Grammy cut-off point of September 30, 2016. It is unclear whether there was an oversight or if there was never an intention to submit either of the records for a potential Grammy prize. A rep for Frank confirmed to the publication that the records were not submitted for consideration. The 'Pyramids' hitmaker earned six Grammy Award nods for his debut solo album 'Channel Orange', which was released in 2012, and he won a gong for Best Urban Contemporary Album. The record also took home Album of the Year at the 2012 Soul Train Music Awards. Frank spent four years making 'Blonde', which he dropped just days apart from 17-track visual LP 'Endless' in August, and later revealed he was inspired after travelling the world. He wrote on Tumblr: "I found it romantic, sometimes, editing this project. The whole time I felt as though I was in the presence of a $16m McLaren F1 armed with a disposable camera. My memories are in these pages, places closeby and long ass-numbing flights away. "Recording in Tokyo, NYC, Miami, LA, London, Paris. Stopping in Berlin to witness Berghain for myself. Trading jewels and soaking in parables with the many-headed Brandon aka BasedGod in conversation."
