Grandaddy announce new album, reveal new video & tour dates
Grandaddy made a live return over the summer but kept fairly shy and coy about their album plans.
They put out a couple of singles and played a string of UK shows. They caused a huge amount of hype and people queued down the street as the lucky recipients of tickets to their tiny gig at London's Oslo venue.
Now, they're back fully having signed to Dangermouse's Century Records to release their first album in ten years. It's named Last Place and been produced by the band's singer Jason Lytle who is meticulous in his art and a genius with melody and lyrics.
It's been descibed in the press release as "wry, humane, poignant, fantastical, and very beautiful; a panoramic representation of everything that has always made Grandaddy so well-loved." We can't wait to get our hands on a copy.
To tease just how good it's going to be, the band have put out a video to their stunning new single 'Way We Won't'. It's got big Hollywood level of cinematography and is a humorous short story of a man stuck out in the desert dreaming of having a bottle of water and a succession of failed hitchhiking attempts. They also satisfy their pyro cravings with a fine explosion at the end. Don't miss out on it - it really is worthwhile.
Grandaddy have also just announced some tour dates for 2017. Tickets on sale 4 November at 9am.
