NewsOctober, 6 Kylie Minogue won't marry until same-sex marriage is legalised in AustraliaPop star Kylie Minogue will not get hitched to fiance Joshua Sasse until same-sex marriage is legalised in her native Australia. The Spinning Around singer met the British actor on the set of his TV show Galavant last year (15) and they announced their engagement in The Times newspaper in February (16) after a whirlwind romance. Many reports have suggested the couple has secretly got married already, or will tie the knot Down Under later this year (16), but Kylie announced on Twitter on Thursday (06Oct16) she will not be walking down the aisle until same-sex couples can do so too. "Beau @joshuasasse #loveislove... We can say 'I Do' when you can too!" she tweeted while sharing a video of Joshua discussing his new marriage equality campaign on Australian TV show Sunrise. During the interview, Joshua said, "Kylie and I have talked about it and we are not comfortable getting married until this law is passed... it's something we've talked about and decided upon and I wanted to tell you today on her behalf and our behalf that until this law is passed, we will not be getting married." He launched the Say 'I Do' Down Under campaign earlier this month (Oct16) to champion the cause and has received celebrity support from Margot Robbie, Dolly Parton and Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters, among others. Joshua explained why he started it on Sunrise, saying, "I was astounded to find that out earlier this year. I thought that if I didn't know about it, I'm sure there are millions of people across the world that don't. "I simply can't fathom... that I have the right to get married to the person I love and somebody else doesn't just because of their sexual orientation. That is not what equality is all about." According to Britain's Daily Telegraph, a plebiscite, a non-binding public vote, about same-sex marriage is due to take place on 11 February (17).
