Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris ‘on a break’

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris are reportedly “cooling things off” after an intense few months together.

The 25-year-old singer began dating the Scottish DJ earlier this year (15) and in no time they were posting regular updates on each other on social media. However things have gone quiet in recent weeks, and a source claims it’s because they are “on a break”.

“The relationship went from 0 to 60 in a matter of weeks,” the insider told Britain’s Grazia magazine. “So it was perhaps inevitable that things might come crashing down. It was incredibly intense, so they’ve taken a step back and are cooling things off.”

The situation reportedly wasn’t helped by pictures of Calvin, 31, emerging from a cheap massage parlour on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles last month (Sept15). He was seen leaving the establishment, where massages cost just $40 an hour, after two hours.

“Taylor was incandescent with rage when she saw the pictures, and told him she wanted to break it off with him then and there,” the source continued. “She felt humiliated that her boyfriend had been caught at such a seedy place.”

The rumours of a break are in stark contrast to recent reports that the pair were set to marry. While Taylor took the unusual step of denying the claims on Twitter, the insider said the reports had an impact on the relationship.

“Talk of them marrying freaked them both out,” they said. “Neither is ready, and suddenly having all this speculation took its toll.”

Calvin has reportedly struggled to adjust to the level of attention that comes with dating the Blank Space popstar.

“He has found the circus surrounding their relationship overwhelming,” the source added. “It (also) seems to bug him that her friends always appear to be around whenever they hang out. They both now see what a mistake it was to become so intense and public so soon.”
