NewsFebruary, 4 Kacey Musgraves denies throwing shade at Beyoncé at Grammy Awards![]() Kacey Musgraves has shut down a rumour suggesting she has beef with Beyoncé. The Golden Hour singer lost out to the Texas Hold 'Em hitmaker for the Best Country Album prize at the 2025 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night. But on Monday, a clip began to circulate on social media showing Kacey with a stoic expression on her face in the seconds after Beyoncé was announced as the winner for her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter. Some followers speculated the country star was upset she lost out on the prize, even though later footage also depicts her standing up, clapping, and smiling. Accordingly, the 36-year-old's representative shot down the rumour in a statement issued to E! News. "It's a sensationalistic false narrative meant to pit two talented female artists against each other," they commented. "There was simply no scowl or expression made." Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and Post Malone were also nominated in the Best Country Album category. However, Kacey didn't go home empty-handed - she won Best Country Song for The Architect during the ceremony. Beyoncé has received criticism from some country music fans for crossing over into the genre with Cowboy Carter. She was also famously snubbed by the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards this year. Yet, in an interview for The Cut in March 2024, Kacey insisted she supported the Texas-born superstar getting involved in the country scene. "The more the f**king merrier," she declared. "I don't really care. It doesn't affect what I'm doing. It doesn't affect me. I've always been just doing my own thing."
