Lainey Wilson to make big screen debut

Lainey Wilson is set to make her feature film acting debut in the big-screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel, Reminders of Him.

The Grammy-winning country singer joins a cast that includes scream queen Maika Monroe and Tell Me Lies star Tyriq Withers, as reported by Variety.

The novel, which follows Kenna Rowan who returns to her hometown after serving five years in prison, was published in 2022. It has sold more than 6.5 million copies globally and has been translated into 45 languages.

Universal Studios emerged victorious from the bidding war for film rights, and plans to release the movie in cinemas on 13 February 2026.

Wilson already has a relationship with Universal after she contributed the original song Out of Oklahoma to last year's blockbuster Twisters. The track was nominated for multiple awards, and the full soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy.

Wilson recently appeared in a recurring role on TV series Yellowstone, playing Abby, a musician. The hit show first began featuring her music in Season 2.

Reminders of Him is one of a number of Hoover's bestsellers that have translated to the big screen, or are currently in the works. Her novel It Ends With Us was made into a hit movie starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni last year.
