NewsMay, 30 Shakira cancels Boston concert hours before showtime![]() Shakira has abruptly cancelled her 29 May concert at Boston's Fenway Park - a stop on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour. Leading up to the show, the Hips Don't Lie singer shared Instagram Story posts expressing her excitement and teasing appearances from Will.i.am and Wyclef Jean. But just hours before doors opened for the show, ticket seller Live Nation announced that the event had been cancelled. The Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn concert scheduled at the same venue on Friday has also been cancelled "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn performances originally scheduled for 29 May and 30 May respectively at Fenway Park have been cancelled," the Live Nation statement read. "Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologise for the inconvenience." Fenway Concerts posted the same statement on social media. According to Boston's 7News, sources claimed that the concerts were cancelled following an inspection from the City. The inspectional services department reportedly spotted a safety concern when preparing to sign off on the stage structure. Shakira will next play in Washington DC on Saturday night. Her tour continues through North America before heading to Mexico in August.
