Harry Styles breaks PB at Berlin marathon

Harry Styles has topped his personal best during the Berlin Marathon.

The singer impressed onlookers by running his second 26.2 mile (42.16km) race in a year.

Styles went incognito as he ran the marathon race on Sunday using the false name of Sted Sarandos in a bid to keep a low profile.

The Watermelon Sugar singer was among the 55,000 runners who started the gruelling race, which he ran in under three hours, garnering him a personal best.

He crossed the finish line at the 2:59:13 mark - an average pace of 6 minutes 50 seconds per mile, according to the BMW Berlin Marathon app, where users can search for participants' race times by bib number.

The result came on an unseasonably warm spring day in the German capital, where temperatures climbed to 75.2 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius).

The race winner, Kenyan long-distance runner Sabastian Sawe, won with a world-leading time of 2:02:16. Sawe's compatriot Rosemary Wanjiru won the women's race in 2:21:05.

Styles made a strong improvement on his time of 3:24:07 (7 minutes 47 seconds per mile) at the Tokyo Marathon, which he completed in March.

The Grammy-Award winner blended in with the crowds in Berlin, wearing black shorts, red trainers, sunglasses and a headband.

Organisers confirmed the One Direction star's participation to the Daily Mail.
