Labrinth to receive Silver Clef nod

Chart star and producer Labrinth is to be honoured at annual music event the Silver Clef Awards.

The 24-year-old - who has worked with figures such as Emeli Sande and Tinie Tempah - is being recognised for his "innovation".

Emeli won the same prize last year at the showbiz event, fully titled the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards.

Labrinth - whose chart hits include Beneath Your Beautiful and Let The Sun Shine - said: "I'm always looking for new ideas and inspiration for my music and it's great to be recognised by Nordoff Robbins.

"Music is my life, so to see how it can help so many people through music therapy is really cool."

He will be honoured at the annual lunch staged by music charity Nordoff Robbins, which helps vulnerable people with music therapy, on June 28 at the London Hilton.

Nordoff Robbins chairman David Munns said: "It's amazing when you consider what he has achieved at just 24 years old - the future can only hold more success for him."

Ten awards will be presented at the event.
