Wanted's Sykes: I'm doing well

The Wanted's Nathan Sykes has revealed that he is "happy to be home" after undergoing emergency throat surgery.

The 20-year-old singer, who had a check-up on April 23 since he had an operation to repair a haemorrhaging vocal cord last week, has just returned to the UK.

"Just landed back in the UK!! So happy to be home!!" he tweeted.

He previously admitted he is doing well, writing: "On the road to recovery. It's a b***** long one, but at least I'm on the road! :P."

His parents and sister Jessica flew out to Los Angeles to look after him as he recovered from the op, and he was photographed smiling as he left the doctor's surgery days ago.

The band's spokesperson has said: "Nathan had surgery as planned last week and is now starting on the road towards recovery. We won't know how successful the procedure was until he heals over the coming months."

The Wanted - who have just been confirmed to be playing Capital FM's Summertime Ball 2013 on June 9 - have been in the States promoting their new reality series The Wanted Life, which is due to premiere on E! on June 2.
