Williams in tears over JLS split

Oritse Williams has broken down in tears as he discussed JLS' split on TV.

The singer struggled to control his emotions as he and his bandmates talked to Alan Carr on Channel 4's Chatty Man show about the split, which was announced this week.

His tears came after Aston Merrygold admitted that "reservations were had" when JLS made the decision not to commit to a new five-album deal.

"It's real for us you know, even Ortise's reaction," Aston said. "We've been through a hell of a lot... we don't want to get pushed out of the industry, we want to obviously go out with a bang."

Oritse, the founding member of the Proud singers, has also told The Sun that he has cried about the group coming to an end.

He said: "I am not going to lie to you, I have been in tears over this.

"I shed a tear when I told my mum because I know how much JLS has been a part of her life."

The foursome - Oritse, Aston, Marvin Humes and Jonathan "JB" Gill - announced the end of JLS this week.

In a message on their website, they said: "To each and every JLSter, our beloved fans around the world. We wanted to make sure that you heard it from the four of us, that we have decided to bring our time as a band to an end. It has been the most incredible journey over the last six years and we have achieved more things than we could have ever dreamed possible. "
