NewsAugust, 1 Rodgers: Get Lucky was a surpriseNile Rodgers has admitted he got lucky with Daft Punk's hit as he had no idea how it would turn out. The Chic guitarist is working with French duo Daft Punk again on his compilation album The Chic Organisation Up All Night and spoke to Digital Spy about working with them on their track Get Lucky. Asked whether they would bring electronica to his album, he said: "You can't predict that. When they called me to play on Get Lucky, I didn't know what they were thinking. They were just talking about a whole list of concepts and then it became Get Lucky. I don't think they had any idea that it would turn out the way it turned out. "So I'm not going in with any preconceived notion. Honestly, I wasn't going to this with anyone else, I was going to do it on my own." Nile, who collaborated with David Bowie on Let's Dance, explained why he had decided to work with other artists. He said: "The reason why I thought it might be interesting to get other people's perspectives on this is because I wrote these tracks at a time when I was searching, and when I finally met David Bowie and we did Let's Dance, I found the answer. "I was like, 'Woah, I wouldn't have come up with this on my own.' I had to be under the influence of David Bowie, so after all this time, when I hear this music I actually just want to listen to it."
