NewsAugust, 14 Albarn and Gallagher collaborating?Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher have been "working together", it has been revealed. The Blur and Oasis stars were bitter rivals during the height of Britpop, but now Blur bassist Alex James has told the Sziget Festival website they have been working alongside one another. Alex said: "Damon and Noel Gallagher are working together on a lot of stuff, so whatever was back then is not relevant any more. But we have to add that young bands today are all very nice. We were totally intolerable." Unfortunately, Alex does not elaborate on what projects the pair are teaming up on. Earlier this year Noel, Damon, Blur guitarist Graham Coxon and Paul Weller performed a rendition of Blur's hit Tender at London's Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust series of concerts, which Noel curated. The war of the Britpoppers started in 1995 when rival bands Oasis and Blur released singles on the same day - Oasis released Roll With It, while Blur put out Country House.
