Drake to perform at MTV awards

Drake is the latest star added to the line-up for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The rapper will join performers including Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Kanye West at the awards ceremony at Brooklyn's Barclays Centre on August 25

MTV also announced that Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Hart will attend the awards show.

Justin and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead in nominations with six each. Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke - who will also perform - are tied with Bruno Mars with four nominations each.

Jared Leto, Emeli Sande and ASAP Rocky will also appear.
