NewsAugust, 23 Perry, Gaga get MTV seats togetherKaty Perry and Lady Gaga are set to sit next to each other at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. The flamboyant singers, who will both perform their latest singles at the star-studded ceremony, will also face each other in a chart showdown with their new albums released within weeks of each other. Best buddies Justin Timberlake and Kanye West, and Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been given seats next to each other, while Robin Thicke will be seated next to Miley Cyrus. The show's executive producer Dave Sirulnick revealed that this year's bash will be a huge spectacle, thanks to the big names who will be there. "Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Drake... It's a mix and it's a brilliant mix," he said. "Katy and Lady Gaga just released a song. Robin Thicke is having the best summer ever. Miley has her album about to drop... "Kanye put out one of the brilliant albums of the year so you have this collection of freshness. I always find that with the best musicians in the world, when you have that freshness... that energy is what helps make the VMAs special." Justin - who will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard gong on the night - is one of the performers at the awards, alongside Bruno, Drake, Kanye, Miley and Robin. The Mirrors singer leads the nominations with Macklemore And Ryan Lewis with six apiece, while Bruno Mars, We Can't Stop star Miley and Canadian crooner Robin are tied with four nods each. The MTV VMAs will be held at Brooklyn's Barclays Centre for the first time on August 25.
