Gaga, Midler, Mraz to sing for King

Lady Gaga is set to salute Carole King with a musical tribute.

The ARTPOP singer is among the star-studded line-up who will sing for the four-time Grammy-winning superstar, who has been named the 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year for her musical contribution and charitable work.

Bette Midler, Jason Mraz, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Dixie Chicks and Carole's former collaborator James Taylor will also take to the stage on January 24 2014, reported The Recording Academy.

Carole, 71, wrote her first number one hit at the age of 17, penning Will You Love Me Tomorrow for the Shirelles with then-husband Gerry Goffin. She has written lots of hits including A Natural Woman (You Make Me Feel Like), Take Good Care Of My Baby, One Fine Day and You've Got A Friend.

Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the MusiCares Foundation, said: "Her contributions as a songwriter and performer have truly changed the landscape of pop music, and her philanthropy speaks volumes about her generosity and personal passions. We are also grateful to the extraordinary artists who have announced their desire to be a part of what will undoubtedly be a magical and inspiring evening."

Bill Silva, chair of the MusiCares Foundation Board, added: "Carole's artistic output is remarkable in its depth. Her influence and charitable legacy are equally impressive, and her approach to art and life is enthusiastic and joyous. It is going to be an exceptional MusiCares Person of the Year tribute."

Past recipients of the award include Bruce Springsteen, Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Brian Wilson, Bonnie Raitt, Tony Bennett, James Taylor and Neil Young.
