Arcade Fire pays tribute to Haiti

Arcade Fire's lead singer says the Canadian band's new album owes a lot to Haiti.

Reflektor comes out next week and the band played two shows in Miami this week under the name The Reflektors.

On Thursday night, the band performed in Miami's Little Haiti neighbourhood. Lead singer Win Butler says the new album was heavily influenced by the band's travels in Haiti.

His wife and bandmate Regine Chassagne also is Haitian.

Haitian musicians playing horns and drums snaked through the crowd before Arcade Fire took the stage. The band scattered Haitian Creole phrases and references to Haiti's ongoing rebuilding efforts throughout the show, which was a fundraiser for the Little Haiti Cultural Center and Partners in Health.

The singer told the sold-out crowd that Haiti "is going to come back".
