McVie would return to Fleetwood Mac

Christine McVie has said that she would be interested in re-joining her old band Fleetwood Mac.

The singer left the group in 1998, but was back on stage with them in September at London's O2 Arena to perform their hit Don't Stop.

She told The Guardian: "I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them. I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted... but it hasn't happened so we'll have to wait and see."

On her reasons for leaving the band, Christine said: "I think I was just music'd out. I suffered from some kind of delusion that I wanted to be an English country girl, a Sloane Ranger or something... and it took me 15 years to realise that it's not really what I wanted at all."

Christine, 70, was previously married to bandmate John McVie, 67, who was diagnosed with cancer recently, meaning that Fleetwood Mac had to reschedule some of their tour dates.

Asked how he was doing, Christine replied: "Really good. He's having his treatment in LA right now, but they caught it really early so he should be up and running in a couple of months."

Bookies have now suspended betting on Fleetwood Mac headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury next year.
