Allen would love to work with Cyrus

Lily Allen has been to visit Miley Cyrus in Los Angeles and said she would love for them to work together.

The Hard Out Here singer, 28, spent time with Miley, 21, and posted a photo of them laughing together on Instagram, with Miley pulling her trademark tongue-out face.

Critics of Lily's video for her new song claimed that it was a direct attack on Miley because it spoofed Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines and featured twerking dancers, but Lily insisted that wasn't the case.

She told the Daily Mirror of her meet with Miley: "I'd never met her before so I couldn't say we are really great friends but I do really like Miley.

"She's funny, witty and clever, I love what she does. I think her and Lorde's album have had the most plays in my car this year. I never went on record saying the video was a direct pop at her - it wasn't."

Lily continued: "People have come up with so many conclusions about that video that if I had to explain each of them I'd be there for hours. So I didn't feel the need to explain anything to her when it came out.

"Anyone who knows me, or follows me on Twitter, knows I love that girl more than anything. She's probably way too busy for someone like me but yeah, I'd welcome the opportunity to work with her."

Lily's Hard Out Here entered the charts at number nine at the weekend and her cover of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know, used on the John Lewis Christmas advert, went in at number one.

Meanwhile new pal Miley was reportedly the victim of burglars the night before her recent 21st birthday.

Some of the singer's jewellery collection and personal items were apparently stolen from her house in Studio City, California , TMZ reported.

However, it seems Miley didn't let the incident ruin her birthday. The star shared a series of pictures on Twitter to mark her big day, including one of her multi-coloured birthday cake and one of her having a birthday cuddle with her pet dog.

The following day she performed at the American Music Awards where she celebrated her 21st backstage with friends including Kelly Osbourne.

Kelly tweeted a photo of herself and Miley and another friend wearing party hats and clutching cupcakes, with the words: "Celebrating @mileycyrus 21st birthday back stage at the #AMAS with @dendoll! Thank god she is finally legal!"
