NewsNovember, 27 Watkins ex 'had warned police'Rock singer Ian Watkins sexually abused hundreds of young victims during years of secret drug-fuelled debauchery, a former girlfriend has warned. Joanna Majic, 38, claimed female fans of the paedophile rocker are hiding the true extent of his prolific child abuse. That is because they are also the mothers of the young children or babies that the former Lostprophets frontman preyed upon, she said. Miss Majic, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, also revealed that she first reported Watkins' activities to South Wales Police five years ago, but wasn't taken seriously. Senior police have vowed to continue seeking out other child victims of the singer's abuse as the investigation into his activities continues. Watkins admitted a string of sickening child-related sex offences at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday, including two attempts at raping a baby. Two unnamed female fans, who were due to stand trial with him, also admitted a series of sex-related offences on the eve of the joint prosecution. Both women, aged 21 and 24, were revealed as the mothers of the baby victims targeted by Watkins. The singer and the two women will be sentenced in Cardiff on December 18. Watkins himself was revealed as a classic manipulative paedophile who sought out hero-worshipping female fans and used his celebrity to get what he wanted. Miss Majic claimed that cynical predatory approach was successfully used in hundreds of other cases. In an interview with Real Radio, she spoke of her devastation that Watkins was not stopped earlier. Asked how she felt about yesterday's outcome, she said: "I don't feel happy about it. I don't feel vindicated. I'm just devastated that it took so long. I've always said to the police, there's hundreds of victims out there and you're never going to find them because the mothers are in on it." Miss Majic had an on-off relationship with Watkins from 2006 and observed his gradual downfall through intense drug use over a four-year period. She speaks of his attempts to get her to take drugs and the abuse from fans she suffered, possibly directed by Watkins, after reporting him to the police. The first occasion was 2008. She said: "I don't know what he had done by then because I still don't know, but in my mind he wouldn't have gone on. He wouldn't have got so cocky and so 'Oh, I've got away with it before. I'll just push it and see how much I can get away with', and he was getting off on that. Every time I went to the police he was getting off on the fact that I was made to look an idiot." She said when police took no action against Watkins she contacted him and apologised on the assumption that her child abuse allegations had been wrong. Her intermittent contact with Watkins, however, would quickly prove that her worst fears had been true. On one occasion Watkins showed her a horrific video on his laptop which was so unpleasant she threw him out of her room. On another he sent her a picture of a little girl taken in his room who was holding a towel which had her picture printed on it. "On that picture towel was a razor blade and a line of what appeared to be coke (cocaine). She had a rolled-up note." One year ago she went to the police again only to learn that he had now been arrested. "They said 'Joanna we've already arrested Ian,' and I just said 'You're four years too late,' because if they'd have done something in 2008 he never would have done anything."
