Justin Timberlake's label sued over Suit and Tie sample

Justin Timberlake's label is being sued by R&B trio Sly, Slick and Wicked over his hit 'Suit & Tie'.

According to TMZ, the group claim there's an instrumental sample on Justin's track - which also features Jay Z - from their 1973 hit 'Sho' Nuff' which RCA Records paid to use but the label did not remunerate them for using the vocals.

The trio - consisting of John Wilson, Charles Still and Terrence Stubbs - are seeking payment from RCA, music publishers and also beer brewing company Anheuser-Busch, who used the song in a popular TV commercial for Bud Light.

The group are credited as co-writers for the song, which was produced by late soul legend James Brown, but are filing a lawsuit to claim damages for the vocals which have not been paid for.

'Suit & Tie' was recorded by Justin for his 2013 album 'The 20/20 Experience' and was released by RCA, who are under the Universal Music Group umbrella.

'Suit & Tie' was produced by Timbaland and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and topped the UK single chart.
