Cardi B turned heads in a green velvet suit inspired by Victorian attire at the 2025 Met Gala. The theme for this year's fashion event was Tailored for You, with the dress code influenced by the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibition which just opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. Arriving at the bash in New York City on Monday night, Cardi wowed in a floral-damask coat in moat green and trousers with beaded fringing designed by Burberry creative director Daniel Lee and styled by Law Roach. The I Like It rapper accessorised the look with green contact lenses, dramatic green eyeshadow, and had her hair teased into a bob. Speaking to Vogue, Lee explained that he collaborated closely with Cardi and Roach to ensure the outfit was respectful of the event's theme. "For Cardi's look, we liked the idea of a tailored, feminine dandy. Cardi gives main-character energy, and her look reflects this," he said. "We looked at Victorian dress and corsetry. There was one particular image we found of an emerald-green gown from the 19th century: The back of the gown had a circular cutout, which, for the time, would have been controversial. We liked this idea of non-conformity, keeping with the spirit of Dandyism." Other celebrities to make the best-dressed list on the night included Zendaya, who wowed in an all-white Louis Vuitton tuxedo, and Doechii, who donned a custom light grey-blue Louis Vuitton monogram shirt and shorts. Elsewhere, Nicki Minaj made a splash in a navy pinstriped suit dress from Thom Browne, Halle Berry rocked a striking LaQuan Smith design, and Kerry Washington stood out in a chic white jacket and sheer skirt from Jonathan Simkhai.
