Charli XCX fears her next album will flop

Charli XCX has shared her fear that her next studio album will be a flop.

The 32-year-old British singer released her smash album, Brat, last year - and the record proved to be the soundtrack to the summer.

With the record being her second UK number one, and her highest charting album yet in the USA where it landed at number 3, she admits she has nerves about her next offering.

She told Culted, "I don't really feel the pressure to create another record like Brat, because when I was making it, even though I really believed in it and totally knew what I wanted to do with it, I had no idea how it would be received.

"I was really doing it for myself and marketing it in the way I wanted to for myself, but I had no clue that people would kind of connect to it in the way that they did."

The Von Dutch singer went on to confide she now has low hopes for her next effort.

She confessed, "So yeah, I don't really feel the pressure, because I feel that you can never really do the same thing twice, and my next record will probably be a flop which I'm down for to be honest."

It may be some time before Charli returns to the studio, however, as she is bolstering her acting career with a new film called 100 Nights of Hero due for release this year.

And she has recently been filming a project for film studio A24 titled The Moment, which she is also producing.
