NewsMay, 23 Billy Joel forced to cancel tour due to health woes![]() Billy Joel announced he regrettably had to abandon his tour over health issues. The 76-year-old music icon has been on his rolling In Concert world tour since 2014 and was due to be on the road throughout 2025 and into 2026. Upcoming dates have been cancelled, however, after the Uptown Girl singer was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) - a condition which causes fluid to build within the brain which in turn can affect cognitive ability and movement. Announcing the need to cancel all of his forthcoming dates, the star told fans via Instagram, "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding." Further details in an accompanying press release revealed the star's health condition had been, "exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance." It continued, "Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. "Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health." The release added, "He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage." Refunds have been issued to all ticket holders with funds set to revert to original ticket buyers and via their original purchase method. The singer had been due to share his stage with other music icons including Rod Stewart, Sting, and Stevie Nicks.
