NewsJuly, 1 BTS reveal 2026 comeback plans after completing military service![]() BTS have confirmed that they will reunite for new music and tour next year. The seven-piece K-pop group reunited for their first collective Weverse livestream in almost three years on Tuesday and announced their plans to return to the limelight in 2026 with new music. Sitting on a couch, the Permission to Dance hitmakers said in a group statement, "We'll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas. We're approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started." According to Billboard, they added, "We're also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We'll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you're as excited as we are." The group - featuring RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook - announced in June 2022 that they were going on hiatus so each member could complete their military service, which is mandatory in South Korea. The oldest member of BTS, Jin, was discharged from military service in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October. RM and V completed their duties in mid-June this year and Jimin, Jung Kook and Suga followed later that month. Suga completed his requirement as a social service agent rather than a member of the military. To keep fans entertained while they work on new music, BTS will release their first live album, Permission to Dance on Stage - Live, on 18 July.
