Queens Of The Stone Age Lead UK Album Chart Race

Queens Of The Stone Age Lead UK Album Chart Race

Queens of the Stone Age are out in front in the race for this week's Official UK Number 1 album. Their ninth studio record, Perfecth, takes its cue from kintsugi – the Japanese craft of repairing broken pottery with gold, which treats imperfection as something to celebrate. If the Californian rockers hold on, it will be their second UK chart-topper, after Villains in 2017.

The midweek lead arrives as the band build live momentum too. They recently announced a 2027 European tour, and UK dates are expected to follow in the coming weeks.

Closest behind them are Scottish indie outfit The Snuts, whose new album Joy In Short Moments starts the week at Number 2. Jack, Joe, Callum and Jordan already have three Top 5 entries to their name, among them their chart-topping 2021 debut W.L., and they will be hoping to edge ahead before Friday's final standings.

Birmingham rock group Editors open at Number 3 with their eighth studio album, Surface, Echo & Sound. It is tracking towards their best chart placing since In This Light and on This Evening in 2009. Canadian rockers Nickelback sit at Number 4 with Everything Under The Sun, chasing their eighth UK Top 10 album, while Michael Jackson's Thriller climbs 18 places towards Number 6 after the Halloween weekend.

Lower down, The Who's 1975 classic The Who By Numbers is set for a Top 10 return at Number 10 thanks to a super deluxe reissue. The Big Moon come in at Number 18 with Forever, looking for a third consecutive Top 40 album, while DJ-producer MK is at Number 21 with In The Night Again and K-pop group ILLIT at Number 22 with BREAK EVEN, both eyeing debut chart appearances.

UK rapper Nines is at Number 29 with his teenage archival mixtape Young Nina, and blink-182's 2001 classic Take Off Your Pants And Jacket re-enters at Number 34 on the back of a 25th anniversary 2LP vinyl release. Closing out the midweek Top 40 at Number 40 is Save As, the solo project from Elena Tonra under the name Ex.
