Thom Yorke: Atoms no supergroup

Thom Yorke has insisted his new band Atoms For Peace is definitely not a supergroup, and woe betide anyone who dares to call them that.

The Radiohead frontman has teamed up with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco and drummer Joey Waronker for his latest musical project, but Thom made it clear in Rolling Stone magazine that he is not a fan of the term supergroup.

"If anyone ever says it to my face I'm going to f****** knock their teeth out," he was quoted as saying.

And the musician feels equally strongly about the band's debut album Amok being kept off the number one spot in the album charts by American pop singer Bruno Mars.

During the interview alongside producer Nigel Godrich, Thom discussed the record being number two.

Nigel said: "Bruno Mars had a special on Amazon. That's why."

Thom responded: "Yeah, Bruno Mars. Who the f*** is Bruno Mars? Sorry. I'll get slandered now."
