Dancing on Ice’s Myleene Klass ‘suffers painful double knee injury’ ahead of first solo skate

Myleene Klass has reportedly suffered excruciating injuries on both her knees as she trained for Dancing on Ice.

Former Hear’Say singer Myleene, 42, is said to be in agony as she continues to train for her first performance on the ITV skating show on Sunday 24 January.

Myleene previously revealed on social media that she was wearing knee supports on both her legs, even when she isn’t on the ice, in a bid to keep up with her training schedule.

The TV presenter is said to have torn a cartilage in her knee, which will only heal once it’s rested.

Meanwhile, she has a “dodgy second knee” which needs extra support after training sessions.

Despite her injuries, Myleene is continuing to rehearse with her professional skating partner Lukasz Rozycki ahead of her first performance on Sunday, after taking part in the group performance on Sunday 17 January.

A source has told The Mirror that Myleene, who recently revealed she miscarried while on radio, is determined not to let her pain get in the way of her performance.

The ITV source said: “Myleene has picked up a knee injury during training and she is having physio sessions to try to help with both her knees ahead of her first dance on screen with Lukasz on Sunday.

“It is very early on to be in pain and having knee problems but Myleene is determined to carry on and won’t let it ruin her experience.

“She will be going through the pain barrier and the show means a lot to her and her children so this may not stop her but it certainly won’t help her chances of winning.”

It appears Myleene has the full support of Dancing on Ice host Holly Willoughby, who recently backed Myleene to win recently.

As she discussed predictions for a DOI winner with Phillip Schofield and judges Torvill and Dean, Holly said: “I think I’m going to go for Myleene!

“I think she’s got musicality because she’s a musician. She’s a performer anyway and I just think she’s going to fall in love with it.”

Phil then added: “I’m liking the sound of that,” before Holly clarified: “That’s based on nothing!”

Myleene isn’t the only star to have suffered injuries on the show, as Denise van Outen dislocated her shoulder during rehearsals last week.

Denise, who shared aftermath snaps of her injuries, was taken to hospital after taking a tumble on the ice.

Speaking of her injury, she told The Sun Online: “I’ve taken a few tumbles since we started training but with this one I knew immediately it wasn’t good.

“I was rehearsing with Matt, hit my toe pick and went flying.

“Straightaway I knew I’d done something. I just thought, ‘Please don’t let it be a break.’

“The on-site medics and physio checked me over immediately and my shoulder was quickly iced.”

She was then taken to hospital where it was discovered she had dislocated her shoulder and received damage to her tendons.
