Jesy Nelson was in 'constant state of fear' during pregnancy

Jesy Nelson was in a "constant state of fear" during her pregnancy.

On Wednesday, the former Little Mix star's twin daughters, Ocean and Story, made their first live TV appearance on This Morning.

During an appearance with her partner, Zion Foster, and their babies, Jesy explained that they had suffered from twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) before birth, a rare condition that threatened their lives.

"I couldn't believe the percentages and what could potentially happen to them," the British singer, 34, said. "I almost felt from that point I couldn't really enjoy my pregnancy because I was constantly worried that something would happen."

She added, "I could only take it two weeks at a time."

The Shout Out to My Ex hitmaker then explained that, although she and Zion were "over the moon" about expecting twins, things became harder after the doctor told them that the girls had developed TTTS.

"Every time we were going for scans (to monitor her pre-stage TTTS), it was getting a little bit worse, a little bit worse," she shared. "I still felt like we didn't think it was gonna happen... I was a bit in denial about it."

Jesy noted that it was difficult to tell the difference between symptoms of the condition and what was normal for a twin pregnancy.

"Two days after my scan, we'd gone to the park and I couldn't even walk because I was so out of breath," she said. "I thought, 'Well, I've got twins, of course I'm going to be out of breath. Of course, my belly is going to be tight, I'm growing two humans.'"

She added that she had been living in a "constant state of fear" until the twins were safely delivered prematurely in May. After spending several weeks in neonatal care, Jesy and Zion brought the twins home in June.
