Queens of the Stone Age Claim Second UK Number 1 Album

Queens of the Stone Age have landed at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with their ninth studio album, Perfecth. It gives the American rock band their second UK chart-topper, following 2017's Villains.

They also ruled the physical side of things, topping the Official Vinyl Albums Chart after outselling every other release on wax this week. On the main chart, Olivia Rodrigo is at Number 2 with You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In, and Michael Jackson's The Essential stays put at Number 3.

Scottish four-piece The Snuts take Number 4 with Joy In Short Moments, their fourth Top 5 album in a row. They also went to Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart, selling the most copies through independent shops over the past seven days. Fontaines D.C. complete the top five, with Dopamine Chamber slipping three places to Number 5.

Lower down, Canadian rockers Nickelback score their eighth Top 10 album as Everything Under The Sun arrives at Number 6, while Birmingham band Editors reach the very same milestone with Surface, Echo & Sound at Number 7. Just after Halloween weekend, Michael Jackson's Thriller climbs 14 places to re-enter the Top 10 at Number 10.

American DJ and producer MK makes his Official Albums Chart debut at Number 20 with In The Night Again, his first solo full-length record. UK rapper Nines picks up his second Top 40 album of the year, with Young Nina entering at Number 30 after Lost Tapes reached Number 14 earlier this autumn.

Finally, The Who's 1975 record The Who By Numbers is back in the Top 40 at Number 31, thanks to a major super deluxe reissue.
