Barlow announces UK arena tour

Gary Barlow has announced he is heading off on a UK arena tour, as he unveiled the artwork to his first solo album in 14 years.

The erstwhile Take That star will play nine shows to support his new release, which was named today as Since I Saw You Last.

His album contains a collection of new songs including a duet with his pal Sir Elton John on the track Face To Face, which was written by Barlow.

Barlow's fans have slowly watched the album sleeve - out on November 25 - being pieced together over the past few days after they were asked to post the star's name on Twitter which has revealed more and more of the cover image until it was finally uncovered today.

His live dates, his biggest series of solo shows for many years, begin on April 2 next year at Glasgow's new SSE Hydro venue, visiting London's O2 Arena three days later and winding up on April 15 at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena.

Barlow said in an interview with the London Evening Standard's ES magazine that he was not bothered about the success of the record when compared to his achievements with Take That - he merely wanted to be able to make it.

"This is going to sound wrong but I couldn't care less," he said.

"I'm not looking to sell 10 million albums.

"I want to to sell enough records to be able to maybe do another tour, to be able to return to this in five years to earn back the money we've spent making it."

Keyboard player Barlow will release a single called Let Me Go on November 17, which is based around an acoustic guitar, and filmed the video on the streets of New York.

He is also organising two BBC Children In Need concerts at London's Hammersmith Apollo - now renamed the Eventim Apollo - featuring the likes of Robbie Williams and Dizzee Rascal.

Tickets for his tour go on sale next Friday.
