Bruno Mars in talks for Las Vegas residency - report

Bruno Mars is reportedly in talks for a money-spinning Las Vegas residency.

The 30-year-old singer is apparently being courted by bosses at Caesars Palace to sign up for a stretch at the venue, following in the footsteps of Mariah Carey, Elton John and Celine Dion.

According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, the venue is so keen to convince Uptown Funk star Bruno to take on the gig that they are even prepared to offer him a staggering $978,000 (£750,000) per show.

"Caesars feels Bruno will bring something completely different - he can sing, dance and play," a source told the publication. "His music appeals to many ages and he can draw huge crowds. This will send a shock wave around the industry.

"Bruno will use Vegas as his main home for his next tour rather than just trek around the world. Had things worked out differently Michael Jackson would now have a residency, Bruno is the closest modern version."

The claims come after The Righteous Brothers singer Bill Medley said during an appearance at the Caesars Palace 50th Anniversary Gala that he had heard bosses were "talking to Bruno Mars". He added: "I’d love to see him here."

Bruno's last release was Unorthodox Jukebox in 2012, and he has been working on a third studio album since August, 2015. However, recently his father Peter Hernandez recently broke the news to fans that Bruno's next release has been delayed due to his decision to perform at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show in February (16).
