Revellers dance out T In The Park

Mud-soaked revellers danced until the end of T In The Park as American rock band Foo Fighters brought the music festival to a close.

The ground at Balado Airfield, near Kinross, was left looking like a mudbath after heavy downpours during the last evening of the three-day event.

However, the rain failed to dampen the mood of tens of thousands of music fans who enjoyed performances from Pulp, My Chemical Romance, Bruno Mars and Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye during the closing hours.

To date, 35 arrests have been made over drugs-related offences, theft and breach of the peace.

Tayside Police confirmed two men aged 25 and 23, both foreign nationals, had been arrested in Kinross as part of an intelligence-led operation. The pair are due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday to face theft charges.

Chief Superintendent Craig Suttie, event commander, said he was "delighted" with the way the event had gone.

Foo Fighters were the headline act on the Main Stage, performing hits including Monkey Wrench, Best Of Me and Times Like These. The festival closed with fireworks exploding over the night sky and Flower Of Scotland being played by a lone piper with the crowds in full voice.

Geoff Ellis, festival director, described this year's T In The Park as the "best ever" with performances from Beyonce, Coldplay, Sir Tom Jones, The View and Arctic Monkeys. He also praised the crowds of up to 85,000 each day for the "self-policing" in keeping crime to a low.

He said: "It's been absolutely fantastic, it's been my favourite T to date. The performances have been out of this world. Beyonce was fabulous, (as were) Coldplay, The Script, Swedish House Mafia and Slash. Beyonce fitted into the event like a hand in a glove really."
