Keo Lead Race for First UK Number 1 Album

Keo are out in front in the race for this week's UK Official Albums Chart. The London four-piece, who have spent the past two years building a devoted following, look likely to take the top spot with their debut, Put A Smile On For Me, a record that deals with love, guilt and self-destruction.

Pushing them hard are Southend's Nothing But Thieves, currently at Number 2 with their fifth studio album, Stray Dogs. The group are chasing back-to-back Number 1s after reaching the summit with Dead Club City in 2023. Taylor Swift is just behind at Number 3 with The Life Of A Showgirl, helped by the arrival of its expanded The Encore edition. Olivia Rodrigo occupies Number 4 with You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In, while synth-pop veterans Soft Cell come in at Number 5 with Danceteria, their last album together after the death of Dave Ball last year.

Lower down the midweeks, Swedish rockers Europe are heading for Number 9 with Come This Madness, which would give them a first UK Top 10 album in 40 years. Alice In Chains are in line for a Top 40 return at Number 13 with a 30th anniversary reissue of MTV Unplugged, and Orbital's Glastonbury 1994 set is targeting a Number 14 entry. Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin looks set for her first Top 40 album, The Gem, at Number 18, and Suede's 1996 record Coming Up re-enters at Number 23 after a 30th anniversary physical release.

Other possible Top 40 entries include Nessa Barrett's Tough Love (29), the soundtrack companion to LINKIN PARK: UNSHATTER (30), and Dublin outfit Gurriers with Nobody's Coming To Save You (31). Blondshell, Kneecap, Tina Turner and Leon Bridges round out the lower end of the midweek update.

The final positions will be confirmed when Friday's Official Albums Chart is published.
