Oasis Documentary Smashes UK Box Office

Fans of Oasis turned out in bucket hats and band shirts, packing cinemas across the UK and Ireland for the opening weekend of the new documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger. The film pulled in £2.66M, a figure that also takes in takings from Wednesday and Thursday previews before the full theatrical release.

Critics and audiences have responded warmly, with the movie holding a 96% Fresh rating from critics and a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Strong ratings on Letterboxd and IMDb underline how much cinema-goers are enjoying it. Distributors have stressed that the run is limited, with screenings in UK and Ireland cinemas only until Thursday 24 September 2026.

Written and created by Steven Knight and co-directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the documentary follows Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher’s reunion tour, Oasis Live ‘25, widely seen as one of the most eagerly awaited rock ‘n’ roll comebacks in recent memory. It presents an unashamedly uplifting portrait of the event, capturing the emotional connection shared by the band and their fans around the world.

With unprecedented access, the film includes behind-the-scenes material, rehearsal recordings, lively stage footage and the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam Gallagher in more than twenty years. As well as showing sold-out stadium dates across the globe, it looks at the group’s deep cultural legacy and what their catalogue means to several generations of listeners.

Released through Walt Disney Studios UK, the cinema event stands as the definitive visual record of the band’s historic return to the stage. Audiences in the UK and Ireland can see it in local cinemas through 24 September.
