Miranda Lambert Denies Hitting Chad Kroeger

Miranda Lambert has finally addressed a long-running rumour that she once punched Chad Kroeger in the face.

During an appearance on The New York Times' Popcast podcast on Thursday, co-host Joe Coscarelli asked the country singer-songwriter to clear up the gossip, which dates back to 2010.

"True or false: you hit Chad Kroeger in the face," he asked.

Lambert said she was "nervous" to answer, but she denied ever hitting the Nickelback frontman. She did, however, admit to throwing a drink at him.

"I threw moonshine on his face. I did do that," she said, referring to the strong, unaged spirit.

Co-host Jon Caramanica then asked what Kroeger's signature hairstyle looked like after the incident.

"Wrecked it. It was just a late night, and no one was in their best state," the 42-year-old said, adding that the moment was not "playful" at all.

"I don't know if we're fine now – but I don't care," she stated.

Kroeger, 51, has not yet responded to her comments.

Back in 2014, Lambert's then-husband, Blake Shelton, told Rolling Stone that the The House That Built Me singer was not afraid to get involved in a bar fight.

"People always try to pop off or call her bluff at bars," he said at the time. "One of them I don't want to say the guy's name, but he's the lead singer of a very popular rock band. His initials are C.K."

Lambert and Shelton, also a country singer, were married from 2011 until their divorce in 2015.

She married Brendan McLoughlin in 2019.

The Kerosene star's tenth studio album, Crisco, is set to drop on Friday.
