Jamie T and Chase & Status in UK Number One Race

Jamie T is in pole position to claim his second straight UK Number 1 album with his new record, Ghosts (100 Days Of Morning). The South London singer-songwriter, whose 2022 album The Theory Of Whatever topped the chart, is ahead in the midweek update, putting him on course for a successful comeback.

But electronic duo Chase & Status are putting up a fight with their seventh studio album, Generic Everything, which sits at Number 2. The pair, Saul Milton and Will Kennard, have enlisted Little Simz, J Hus and Giggs for collaborations, and they are chasing their first UK Number 1 after reaching Number 2 with No More Idols in 2011 and Brand New Machine in 2013.

Blues rock band The Temperance Movement are eyeing their best chart placing yet, with New Promise Land Incorporated at Number 3. Australian pop star Troye Sivan is just behind at Number 4 with She's The Best, an album helped by his recent hit single Party. Meanwhile, Wigan group The Lilacs could land a Top 5 spot with their debut, Keeping Up With The Joneses.
