Taylor Swift Teases Patient Zero Video With Star Cast

Taylor Swift has given fans a glimpse of the video for her new single Patient Zero, and it comes with some serious star power.

The singer announced on Wednesday that an extended version of her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is on the way. The new edition will include Patient Zero along with three extra tracks: Cleveland!, Pink Clouding and Babylon.

On Thursday, Swift posted a first look at the Patient Zero video on Instagram. The 13-second clip has a cinematic feel and features Swift with actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. Viewers see Swift washing her hands, two bodies plunging into water, a black rose, two women standing at a gravestone, a tearful Swift and a striking shot of all three stars together.

Swift, Farrell and Johnson directed the video, while Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, whose credits include Birdman and Gravity, handled the camera work.

The world premiere is set for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday. It will be a big night for Swift, who is up for 11 awards and will also receive the first MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, a new prize celebrating artists who have pushed the art of visual storytelling forward.

The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore arrives on Friday 25 September.
