Stella Parton Speaks on Family Dispute

Stella Parton has broken her silence about the family dispute that followed the death of her sister, country music icon Dolly Parton.

The legendary singer died last month at the age of 80, and since then her relatives have been caught up in a bitter conflict.

Parton's estate is said to have obtained a temporary restraining order against her nephew, Bryan Seaver, after he allegedly threatened her manager, Danny Nozell.

Nozell, who managed Parton for more than two decades, has stated that Seaver asked him for money and then began citing what he described as his self-proclaimed military-contractor background, his access to weapons and his capacity for violence.

Stella Parton, who is also Seaver's aunt, has now commented on the situation.

Writing on Facebook, she said that every family faces the same struggles because everyone is living in this world having a human experience. She added that the family remains intact and is moving forward, because their children and grandchildren look to them for strength and guidance during this difficult time of loss and confusion.

The 77-year-old also urged fans to be sceptical about what they hear, saying that regardless of what they may have seen on different news outlets, the family is doing what anyone else would do under the same circumstances.

A spokesperson for Seaver said they were dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions since Dolly's death. In a statement, the spokesperson said they remain unshakably resolved to fulfil Parton's final directive to protect her family, and that they refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions they believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much.
