Karol G Tops 2026 Heat Latin Music Awards Nominations

The Heat Latin Music Awards has revealed its 2026 nominees, and Karol G is out in front.

The Colombian singer picked up 10 nods, earning recognition in categories such as Best Female Artist, Best Urban Artist, Album of the Year for Tropicoqueta and Best Viral Song for Bby Wow, among others.

Behind her sits Bad Bunny with nine nominations, while Carlos Rivera and Shakira each collected seven.

The Best Male Artist field features 14 contenders, including Bad Bunny, Feid, Carlos Rivera, Maluma and J Balvin.

Another 14 artists are in the running for Best Female Artist, with Karol G, Shakira, Rosalía and Anitta among them.

Originally called Premios Heat, the awards were staged in the Dominican Republic from their launch in 2015 through 2024. The ceremony has since moved to new host cities outside the DR: in 2025 it took place in Medellín, Colombia, and this year it will be held in Mexico for the first time, at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Centre in Jalisco.

"Jalisco is not simply providing us with a venue; it is giving us a home and a place to come together once again around music," said Diana Montes, general director of the Heat Latin Music Awards.

"We arrive with 10 years of Latin American history, and here we have found the hands that know how to bring it to life."

At the 2025 edition, Colombian star Beéle took home the biggest prizes.

This year's trophies will be presented on 5 November, with Dominican actor Caroline Aquino and Mexican television personality Karime Pindte serving as hosts.
