NewsOctober, 6 Jamie Miller Takes On Taylor Swift for Number 1
Welsh singer Jamie Miller is in the middle of a fierce mid-week race for the top of the Official Singles Chart, with his breakthrough track Babydoll aiming for the Number 1 position. After first entering the Top 40 in September, the song has climbed rapidly and recently reached new heights within the top tier. In the latest Official Chart First Look, Babydoll is at Number 3, putting pressure on Taylor Swift's Patient Zero at Number 1 and Sienna Spiro's Great Expectation at Number 2. With early sales and streaming figures still coming in, fans will find out on Friday whether Miller can pull off a surprise. Other big names are also making moves in the mid-week update. Noah Kahan is heading for a strong Top 10 debut with Draw You Out, from the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack, currently at Number 7. Meanwhile, after the release of the expanded HABIBTI (FOMO) edition, global star Drake looks set to land several new entries inside the Top 40. These include Solar Eclipse featuring Don Toliver at Number 16, Cold Shoulder featuring Don Toliver and Yebba at Number 27, and Quebec at Number 28. Dance music is well represented in this week's chart race too. German DJ Kolter is on course for his first-ever Top 40 appearance with Hey Everybody (Back In The Dance) at Number 21, while Cloonee, Prospa and Tristan Henry keep climbing with Good Girl at Number 23. Among the other notable mid-week movements, acclaimed Irish group Fontaines D.C. are tracking for their third career Top 40 single with Tongue, the second offering from their highly anticipated upcoming album Dopamine Chamber, which currently sits at Number 32. The final chart positions will be revealed this Friday, with fans watching closely to see if Jamie Miller can claim the crown.
