NewsOctober, 20 Ejae of KPop Demon Hunters marries Samuel Kim in Seoul
Ejae, the voice behind Rumi in KPop Demon Hunters, has married her fiancé of long standing, Samuel Kim. The couple exchanged vows in Seoul, South Korea, on 17 October, with Vogue confirming the news on Monday. The setting carried a personal meaning for the bride. Her grandparents once lived in the house where the venue now stands. "My grandparents lived in the house at the venue when I was a little girl," she recalled. "I spent much of my childhood exploring the garden and walking with my grandfather in the hills behind the house... Weaving traditional Korean wedding ceremonies into our wedding weekend was so special for us and our family." The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Kim Eun-jae and who also had a hand in Golden, chose a custom Danielle Frankel gown for the ceremony and later changed into a second dress by Zac Posen for the reception. She explained that she had admired Danielle's approach for a long time. "I had long admired Danielle's modern, but slightly twisted take on a classic wedding dress, and I knew I wanted to reach out to see if she would be interested in working with me on a custom dress," the 34-year-old said. "From our first meeting, Danielle immediately understood my vision: ethereal, modern, chic, and timeless with a twist." Among the guests were her KPop Demon Hunters co-stars Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna. Looking back on the day, Ejae was full of warmth. "There was so much joy to be shared," she said. "The ceremony was beautiful, heartfelt, and fun." Ejae and Samuel, a former music producer, got engaged in late 2023. Their story began in 2017, when they met during a songwriting session.
