Kasabian and PRESIDENT Battle for UK Chart Crown

Kasabian are in a tight race with metalcore newcomers PRESIDENT for the top spot on the UK Official Albums Chart.

Their ninth studio album, ACT III, currently leads the midweek update. If it holds, it will be the Leicester band's eighth consecutive UK Number 1, matching the chart-topping totals of Oasis and Led Zeppelin.

Hot on their heels at Number 2 is PRESIDENT with their debut full-length, Blood Of Your Empire. Formed in early 2025, the mysterious outfit – comprising The President, Heist, Protest, and Vice – follows up their EP King Of Terrors with a record trailing Kasabian by fewer than 900 chart units.

The midweek Top 5 also features several new entries. Slovak artist ADÉLA debuts at Number 3 with her first studio album PRIMA, boosted by the single "Ain't in LA". Pop singer Natalie Imbruglia lands at Number 4 with Algorithm, her first release in five years – if it stays, it will be her highest-charting album since Counting Down The Days in 2005. Olivia Rodrigo's former chart-topper rounds out the Top 5.

Further down, ex-Thin Lizzy frontman Ricky Warwick sits at Number 6 with Fire & Vengeance, eyeing a career-best solo placement, while Ellie Goulding's I Know Too Much tracks toward the Top 10 at Number 10. Dexys target a ninth Top 40 album with LOVE at Number 11, and Liverpool singer-songwriter Jamie Webster enters at Number 13 with Running Round The Sun.

Reissues and physical formats are also making waves: a 20th-anniversary push sees Beyoncé's B'DAY re-enter at Number 15, while vinyl releases propel Evanescence's Sanctuary to Number 20 and Foo Fighters' Your Favorite Toy to Number 26.

The final Official Albums Chart standings will be confirmed on Friday.
