Cliff Richard Announces New Album Only Number Ones

Sir Cliff Richard is set to release his 48th studio album, Only Number Ones, on November 27. The record features his renditions of classic and contemporary chart-toppers from the past eight decades, including Spirit In the Sky, Oh Pretty Woman, Return To Sender, Sign of the Times, and a fresh take on White Christmas.

The 85-year-old music icon shared his excitement: "I suggested to Warner Music that I record an album of songs that made it to No.1. Thank heavens they agreed!! I listened to dozens of songs and chose 12 of my favourites. This record is my tribute to fabulous artists who had recorded wonderful tracks that achieved the number one position."

Produced by Sam Hollander and Josh Edmondson and recorded in February, Only Number Ones will also be available as a deluxe edition. That version includes all 14 of Cliff's original number one hits, from Living Doll and Bachelor Boy to The Young Ones, Summer Holiday, Congratulations, and We Don’t Talk Anymore, plus his three Christmas chart-toppers: Mistletoe and Wine, Saviours Day, and The Millennium Prayer.

Cliff, who ranks as the third best-selling artist in UK singles chart history behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley, is also inviting fans to celebrate his 86th birthday with him at an afternoon tea on October 15 at the InterContinental Hotel in Park Lane, London. Those who pre-order any format of the album from his official store between 9am on Tuesday and 2pm BST on September 17 will have the chance to purchase tickets for the event.

The deluxe edition's track listing spans CD1 with covers like All I Have To Do Is Dream (originally by The Everly Brothers), I'm a Believer (by The Monkees), My Sweet Lord (by George Harrison), Don't Give Up On Us (by David Soul), Sign of the Times (by Harry Styles), From Me To You (by The Beatles), Return to Sender (by Elvis Presley), I Should Have Known Better (by Jim Diamond), Rock Around The Clock (by Bill Haley His Comets), and a 2026 version of White Christmas (originally by Bing Crosby). CD2 features Cliff's own hits with The Drifters and The Shadows, including Travellin' Light, Please Don't Tease, I Love You, The Young Ones, The Next Time, Bachelor Boy, and Summer Holiday, along with solo tracks like The Minute You’re Gone, Congratulations, We Don't Talk Anymore, Mistletoe and Wine, Saviour's Day, and The Millennium Prayer. Bonus tracks include Miss You Nights, Devil Woman, and a 2003 remix of White Christmas.
