NewsOctober, 3 Zara Larsson Eyes Coachella Headline Slot
Zara Larsson has her sights set on one day topping the bill at Coachella. The Swedish pop star, whose US breakthrough came last year with the single Midnight Sun, would love to land a spot at the famous California festival. She has been going to Coachella for years and says it is one of the places where the artists and musicians around her leave her feeling deeply inspired. Even so, she does not believe she is ready to take the main stage's headline slot just yet. "I'm not quite there yet, but I definitely want to perform," she told Billboard. "And then for headlining, I want it to be so mega and big and amazing that everyone's like, 'Well, now she has to headline.'" The singer of Lush Life played Lollapalooza in Chicago recently, and a clip that went viral showed her inviting a fan up on stage to join the choreographed dance for that song. She explained that she wants audiences everywhere, at any festival or in any country, to share that kind of experience and make special memories together. Every show and every crowd, she said, brings something different. "It's something that can't be planned. And it's something that the fans bring," she added. "It's really something that I can't do from stage by myself." This year has taken her to a number of festivals, among them All Things Go Music Festival on America's East Coast in late September and All Points East in London during the summer.
