Kristen Bell, Carrie Underwood Lead Dolly Parton Tribute

Kristen Bell and Carrie Underwood are among the performers set for a live televised tribute to Dolly Parton later this month. The actress and the country star will take the stage at Belmont University's Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville, Tennessee on 21 October to honour the late Jolene hitmaker.

The two-hour live special, organised by the Country Music Association (CMA), will also feature performances from Reba McEntire, Lady A, Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town, Ella Langley, Kelsea Ballerini, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde, Vince Gill, Zac Brown and Darius Rucker.

Musical theatre star Kristin Chenoweth will also perform, with Amy Grant and Kimberly Williams-Paisley appearing as special guests. A press release notes that more surprise tributes from Dolly's friends will be featured throughout the special.

An ensemble of Belmont University students will perform as well, reflecting the university's ongoing 'Dolly U' programming, which aims to engage students in learning from Parton's career, artistry and entrepreneurial legacy.

Officials from the CMA and Belmont University will donate proceeds from the live show to the music legend's Imagination Library, a programme that provides millions of children with a free book each month.

CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton airs live on ABC and Disney+ in the U.S. on 21 October, and will be available internationally the following day via Hulu.

The 9 to 5 hitmaker died on 25 August at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
