NewsOctober, 5 Zach Bryan Sets Gillette Stadium Attendance Record
Zach Bryan has set a new attendance record at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Wearing a Free Palestine T-shirt at Saturday's With Heaven on Tour date, the I Remember Everything singer drew the biggest crowd the venue has ever seen, with over 73,000 people in the audience. "Tonight, Zach Bryan broke the Gillette Stadium attendance record with 73,538 fans!" the stadium posted on Instagram. Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, belongs to American billionaire businessman Robert Kraft, who actively supports Jewish and Israeli causes. Kraft and other venue owners were reportedly among those who pressured Ed Sheeran to remove Macklemore from his tour because of the rapper's vocal backing of the Palestinian people. Sheeran cut Macklemore from the tour last month after an outcry over the opener's "Free Palestine" remarks on stage. Choosing to stay neutral, Sheeran later put out a statement calling it the "promoter's decision" after Kraft gathered several tour venues to deliver an ultimatum. After that statement, fellow openers Finneas, Aaron Rowe and Lukas Graham left the tour, as did Sheeran's backing band, Beoga. Bryan's record-breaking show follows Sheeran being forced to cancel his own Gillette Stadium dates last weekend amid reports that a major storm was heading for the city.
