NewsOctober, 8 Aerosmith Set Two Comeback Shows at Hollywood Bowl
Aerosmith are returning to the stage. The group has lined up two comeback concerts, three years after calling off their farewell tour because frontman Steven Tyler hurt his larynx. The shows are set for the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on 29 October and 1 November. They carry the title California, Dream On: Aerosmith and Friends. A long list of guests will join them across the two nights, among them the Black Crowes, Run-DMC, Heart, Andrew Watt, Billy Idol, Chad Smith, Slash, Duff McKagan, Eric Church, Sammy Hagar and Tom Morello. According to the announcement on the band's website, more artists, special guests and surprise appearances will be revealed in the coming weeks, with the promise of memorable collaborations and unexpected moments on both evenings. The lineup is expected to differ from night to night, and the final bills will be confirmed at or close to showtime, with changes possible. Back in May 2023, Aerosmith unveiled a 40-date North American run called the Peace Out farewell tour. Guitarist Joe Perry told the Associated Press at the time that he felt the moment had arrived, adding that nobody knows how much longer everyone will stay healthy enough to keep doing it. Drummer Joey Kramer did not take part, stepping away to concentrate on his family and his health, and John Douglas filled in for him. The tour opened in Philadelphia on 2 September 2023, yet it stopped abruptly two shows later, after a New York gig during which Tyler injured his larynx. The band first tried to reschedule the dates while he recovered, but in the end scrapped the whole tour.
