Céline Dion Gets Her Own Barbie Doll

Céline Dion now has a Barbie doll made in her likeness. Mattel Creations designers revealed the Céline Dion Barbie Signature Doll on Wednesday, with a price tag of $60 (£45).

The doll wears a long-sleeve navy blue gown and comes with a copy of the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace made famous by the 1997 film Titanic. That look recalls what Céline wore to the 1998 Academy Awards, where she sang the Titanic theme, My Heart Will Go On, and took home the Oscar for Best Original Song that same night.

"It is a true honour to join the Barbie legacy with a doll inspired by one of the most meaningful moments of my career," said the 58-year-old. "I hope this doll inspires everyone to express themselves with confidence, follow their dreams and believe in the power of their own voice."

She joins a list of artists who have been turned into Barbie Signature dolls, including the late Whitney Houston, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue, Gloria Estefan, Diana Ross and Stevie Nicks.

The Power of Love singer is in the middle of a concert residency at the Plenitude Arena in Paris, France. The run marks her comeback to live shows after a long break during which she dealt with serious health problems, among them the rare neurological condition stiff-person syndrome.

The first leg of the residency ends on Saturday, after which Céline will rest before returning for 10 more shows next May.
